the 5-minute planning habit that boosts your focus

Wake up. Grab coffee. Check emails. Check Slack. Skim the news.

Before you know it, an hour’s gone, and you haven’t moved the needle on anything important.

I used to call this “easing into the day.” In reality, I was just reacting. Clicking around, answering messages, feeling productive without actually making progress.

So I made a change.

Introducing the 5-minute planning habit.

It’s simple: spend five minutes before starting work to outline what truly matters.

  1. Pick your top three priorities – what needs to get done today?
  2. Assign time blocks – when will you actually do them?
  3. Anticipate distractions – what could throw you off track?
  4. Adjust as needed – is your plan realistic?

That’s it. Five minutes now saves hours later.

Want to cut the busywork and get more done? Read the full breakdown here and start tomorrow with a plan that works.
